Medical Education
We are unique among foundations in that some of our assets are devoted to medical education programs to train doctors and other health professionals. Our investments in medical education include:
Residency Programs
The residency programs we fund graduate approximately 35 physicians each year. More than 60 percent of these graduates stay in Colorado. Our programs include:
- A primary care internal medicine residency at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center
- Family medicine residencies at Rose and Swedish Medical Centers
- A Transitional Year internship
- A Podiatry residency
Faculty physicians and residents offer quality health care services to community residents at three primary care centers:
- High Street Clinic
- Rose Family Medicine Center
- Swedish Family Medicine Center
Our residents provide additional services through rural outreach, school-based clinics and shelters.
Residencies Supported by the Foundation The first three residencies are affiliated with both Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center and the High Street Primary Care Center

Colorado Center for Medical Laboratory Science
We administer the Colorado Center for Medical Laboratory Science, which trains clinical laboratory scientists.
Established in 1962, it is one of the largest and oldest schools of its kind in the Rocky Mountain region. Also known as medical technologists, graduates work in hospitals or clinics performing diagnostic laboratory testing in hematology, chemistry, microbiology and immunohematology (blood bank).
Each year, about 20 students graduate from the Colorado Center for Medical Laboratory Science. The school offers clinical rotations through 24 community partners at training sites in Colorado and Wyoming.
