Annie believes that words matter. It’s why she was drawn to communications, where her words can resonate and help evolve the way we relate and connect to one another. Writing with a purpose — to improve the health of Coloradans — is her passion and motivation. She knows that good health allows each of us to live an empowered, connected and fulfilling life.
Before joining us in 2015, Annie worked in health care marketing and communications for six years at two national cancer treatment providers. There, she led strategic marketing and communications initiatives, crafted internal communications and supported mission-driven organizational change. In her current role at the Foundation, she writes and edits strategic communications content, manages the Foundation's sponsorship program, supports and develops key grantee communications initiatives, and acts as a brand ambassador both internally and externally.
Annie believes that magic happens in life when people take action, especially in leaps and bounds. She grew up in Southern California, went to college in Indiana, and (at last count) has traveled to more than 20 countries. Wanderlust runs in her blood: In 2013, she picked up and moved to Thailand, where she taught English in a rural community and lived on an ashram while completing her Hatha Yoga teacher training.
Annie relies on nature, laughter and self-care to cultivate a healthy mind, body and spirit. She practices yoga almost every day and is passionate about the power of nutrition. If you’re lucky, she’ll make one of her famous green juices for you! No matter the time of year, Annie enjoys spending time outdoors: paddle boarding, camping, snowshoeing and hiking. She lives each day with a profound sense of gratitude for her own health, for her beautiful adopted home, and for the opportunity to bring health in reach for all Coloradans.
