BoostCamp/SecondShift /Accelerate (XLR8) Programs

Promote health equity by targeting youth with less power, privilege and income, as well as youth of color and youth with disabilities through the Access' BoostCamp, SecondShift and Accelerate (XLR8) programs. Provide youth with a sense of belonging by facilitating their connections with peers, their families and adult mentors through participation in activities that sustain their physical health and develop the skills they need for resiliency in life.

Sand Creek Outdoor Wellness Program

Enhance SCRGP's programs developed around encouraging youth to move confidently in outdoor spaces, provide youth with the resources needed to make sound decisions around physical health and give youth from the northeast metro Denver community the opportunity to advocate for the types of activities they want to be involved in. This includes the development of SCRGP's Outdoor Wellness Program.

Clifton Intergenerational Playground

Improve the health of the residents of the traditionally underserved in the Clifton neighborhood by creating an equity-centered playground at Rocky Mountain Elementary Park (RMEP). Using the principles of equity centered design, CCL's shovel ready playground is equity centered, community-created with a comprehensive plan that includes the activation and long-term maintenance of the playground.

AGI Outdoors

Address the lack of AAPI representation in outdoors spaces by providing AAPI girls access to learn outdoor skills, build confidence and self-efficacy and connect with the community of AAPI women who have a passion for the outdoors.

Advancing the Physical Well-Being of REC Youth Via Physical Literacy Programming and Health Education

Build capacity and scale REC programming that advances the physical well-being of youth. Provide access to nutritious foods and implement health education/physical literacy programming for over 800 students (many historically underrepresented) while fostering a supportive environment where youth are encouraged to exercise agency, develop interest and confidence in physical activities and make nutritious food choices.

STEAMotional Growth Initiative

Build capacity for EUREKA! to provide more impactful programs that work within the intersection of education, social-emotional learning and physical and mental health to improve social determinants of health for youth in Mesa County through the STEAMotional Growth Initiative. As culturally-responsive practices are incorporated into core STEAM curriculum, aim to increase access to developmentally and educationally enriching programs for underserved and underrepresented youth in the community.

CHTA: Movement & Wellness

This proposal uses youth mentorship and creativity to address systematic inequalities and impacts of the pandemic that manifest as physical health disparities for BIPOC/LGBTQ communities. Our intergenerational cohorts strengthen relationships to support wellbeing while our youth sessions explore culturally relevant forms of physical activity/nutrition like yoga, somatic coping, dance and culinary arts to address self-esteem, social connection and positive associations with body image/identity.

San Luis Community Field: Planning

The Town of San Luis, community members and partners will explore and plan toward one of two site options to create an inclusive space that can be a cultural epicenter for residents of all ages and abilities and be used for community events, physical education classes, sports leagues and family gatherings. The space will promote community engagement and physical and mental well-being.
