To all Black Coloradans and their families, we are proud to celebrate Juneteenth – the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the U.S. Two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, the last slaves were freed. Juneteenth is also a reminder that while tremendous progress has been made in ensuring racial justice for all, there is still much more work to do. Learn more about Juneteenth.
