Jin Alexander Tsuchiya

Public Policy Officer

Jin (pronounced Gene) is passionate about public policy, and that passion is grounded in his belief that policy can create solutions for even the most challenging societal issues. Health policy, in particular, is deeply personal for Jin. He is driven by his knowledge that many policy issues -- which may on the surface not appear to be health-related – are in fact health issues.

Jin came to the Foundation in June 2018 with eleven years of experience in the realms of policy, public affairs and political campaigning, predominantly in Colorado. He focused on local policy and community engagement efforts in prior positions at Colorado WINS, Colorado Consumer Health Initiative, CRL Associates and Kaiser Permanente. He also established the Mile High Business Alliance's policy function and served as a public relations intern at RTD. While he’s had the opportunity to work on many diverse issues in the past, health policy is what excites and motivates him the most.

Jin grew up in Chicago, went to school in Missouri and has lived in Colorado for the last eleven years. In his free time, you’ll find him playing soccer and spending time with his wife, Annetta, and their two dogs: Hank and Charley. If he’s outside, learning new things and enjoying Colorado’s blue skies and sunshine, he’s happy. Add in an international adventure or six (he has been to Japan, Canada, Ireland, the U.K., Australia, and Morocco in the last two years), and that is Jin’s recipe for a balanced life.

“Public policy is my passion when it comes to solving societal problems. It's deliberate on my part to work towards solutions this way because a lot of things that aren’t traditional health policy issues are health issues.”
