Kaitlin Heinz
Kaitlin possesses a strong background handling the finances of mission-oriented organizations and foundations. As senior accounting manager, she leads the Foundation’s tax and auditing processes, and collaborates with staff on the ongoing analysis of our finances.
Kaitlin purposefully seeks out nonprofit work that aligns with her values. Her nonprofit career started in Washington, D.C. at Center for American Progress as a senior staff accountant. Then, at the Public Welfare Foundation, she served in multiple roles, including manager of accounting. There she learned about the intersection of criminal justice and racial equity, inspiring her to center equity as a guiding principle in her career. Most recently, she served as senior finance director for Book Trust.
Kaitlin lived her entire life in Virginia before moving to Colorado in 2020 after falling in love with the state during snowboarding trips in the mountains. An athlete with a physical activity for every season, she enjoys running, hiking, stand up paddle boarding and biking. Being outdoors is essential to Kaitlin’s mental health, and she frequently explores parks across the state. If she must be stuck indoors, you can find Kaitlin making kombucha or planning her next adventure.
