Kathy DeWald

Executive Assistant

Kathy joined The Colorado Health Foundation in the summer of 2021, backed by 15-plus years of administrative experience in a variety of sectors, including nonprofit and philanthropy. As the executive assistant for impact, she supports the Foundation’s chief impact officer, vice president of community investment and impact, and portfolio director for impact investing. Additionally, she assists both the Policy Team and Learning & Evaluation Team.

A background in counseling and human resources guided Kathy toward administrative roles in which she could help people. She pursued a mission-driven path after finding her niche in administrative support, previously serving as an executive assistant at Colorado Children’s Campaign and Gary Community Investments.

Kathy is proud to be at the Foundation because she understands that health, while a basic and urgent need, is a complicated issue. She is thrilled to be part of an organization that is bringing health in reach by centering racial justice to achieve health equity.

Originally from South Dakota, Kathy has called Colorado home for over 10 years. She enjoys spending time with her family, including her wife and four rescue cats, and has hopes to explore all of the country's national parks.

"Bringing better health in reach to all Coloradans seems like a simple mission, but health, while a basic need, is a complicated issue. I am proud to be at an organization where I can help the people of Colorado."
