Keri Ann Jones
Keri’s life is rooted in two defining truths. One, she was born with an innate desire to help others. And since childhood, Keri has carried a special affinity for language and the power of words. In making her desire to help others a reality, Keri originally planned on becoming a nurse. However, a college introductory course in communications quickly forged her love of professional communications. Keri hasn’t looked back since.
Seven years ago, she began her career at the intersection of health, communications and the nonprofit sector. A member of the Foundation’s communications team since 2015, Keri wears many hats including writer, editor, designer, planner, relationship builder, brand ambassador, creative critic, thought partner and collaborator.
In her role, Keri is charged with the development and execution of strategic communications that align with the Foundation’s mission to improve the health of Coloradans. She believes that creating meaningful experiences is at the core of effective communications, and strives to embody this in her day-to-day work. Writing and editing is Keri’s “bloodline,” which she described as far and away the favorite part of the work day. Her approach to crafting communications is always rooted in the Foundation’s cornerstones – ensuring that equity remains at the heart of all we do.
Keri expressed the importance of the Foundation’s position as a health equity foundation: One that works tirelessly to lift up issues that are overlooked and serve those who go without what they need to lead healthy lives. She deeply values working for the Foundation, noting that it’s special to be at a place where we help make health and health equity possible. She highlighted the virtue that all who call her state ‘home’ should have every opportunity to be as happy and healthy as the person next to them.
In her own time, Keri frames her healthiest habits through the lens of self-care. She strives for holistic balance where she feels good in body, mind and spirit. A born and bred Coloradan, it’s no surprise that the mountains are one of her true loves. You can often find Keri on an outdoor adventure with her dog, Rajah Roo, stating she feels “most centered and at peace” when spending quiet time in nature.
