Suzanne Delap

Senior Learning and Evaluation Officer

Suzanne Delap’s career has been shaped by a deep commitment to improving outcomes for marginalized communities through research, evaluation, and direct support. With over a decade of experience in nonprofit research and evaluation, Suzanne has worked at the intersection of data-driven insights and community-centered change. She is also a licensed school psychologist, which further grounds her work in a deep understanding of the challenges faced by Colorado’s children and their families.

As the Foundation’s Senior Learning and Evaluation Officer, Suzanne supports both internal teams and grantees in formative and summative evaluations. Her role bridges data analysis and real-world application, ensuring that insights are transformed into actionable strategies that drive meaningful impact. Suzanne is motivated by a belief that social determinants of health shape every aspect of people’s lives and that addressing these foundational inequities is key to building healthier communities.

Suzanne’s extensive experience includes leading mixed-methods research projects focused on public education, child welfare, early childhood, and Indigenous studies. Before becoming a part of the Foundation, Suzanne guided capacity-building initiatives through the Capacity Building Center for Tribes, conducted statewide studies on the impact of COVID-19 on Colorado’s early childhood sector and examined outcomes for children and families in the Denver Preschool Program. “I have dedicated my professional career to reducing barriers and promoting equitable access for marginalized communities. Social determinants of health are the given circumstances that predict all outcomes, which drives me in this work.”

Outside of her professional life, Suzanne stays busy cheering on her two sons in youth sports.  Having called Colorado home for many years, Suzanne finds joy in the state’s natural beauty, particularly in Rocky Mountain National Park and the charming town of Estes Park. For Suzanne, life is at its best when she’s surrounded by the people she loves, combining her passion for meaningful work with the warmth of family and community connection.
