“Great health sets the stage for everything else in life. Everyone should have a path towards it.”
Ed Scholz

With nearly three decades of experience in finance and administration, Ed Scholz has dedicated his career to supporting organizations that make a difference in people’s lives. As chief financial and administrative officer at The Colorado Health Foundation, he leads and supports the administrative functions that make the Foundation’s community-driven work possible.

Ed has always been drawn to a life of service, one that combines his financial expertise with a commitment to improving health and well-being for all Coloradans. He believes that great health sets the stage for everything else in life and that everyone deserves a path toward it.

Ed most recently served as executive vice president of finance and operations for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, where he focused on developing sustainable strategies to advance the museum’s goals. Before joining the museum, he worked for the City and County of Denver for over a decade, including as budget director, deputy chief financial officer, and chief financial officer.

A proud Coloradan of 29 years, Ed holds both a bachelor’s degree in finance and an MBA from Binghamton University. Outside of work, he finds balance through time spent in nature—gardening, hiking, exercising, or meditating. He’s also a lover of classical music (and plays the French horn), enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling with his husband and their dog whenever possible. His guilty pleasures? Chocolate and wine, sometimes together.
