This brief explores how the Foundation has developed a strong policy advocacy function as a means to influence public policy while also supporting nonprofits in Colorado that advocate for and advance health equity. The brief looks at how the Foundation’s policy advocacy team has managed tensions necessary to achieving impact, including 1) being planful and nimble, 2) being a supportive partner and a visible leader and 3) maintaining political neutrality and being proactive when needed.
