Odell Barry Jr. Park Construction Project

Construct a water-wise and ADA-compliant neighborhood park with playgrounds, an adventure course, trails, public art, signage, lighting, furnishings and landscaping all designed to fit within the natural contours of the site and take advantage of the Front Range views. The construction would transition an unimproved, inaccessible property into a new active space that invites youth, teens and adults of all ages and abilities.

DACA/Undocumented Health Opportunities Program (DUHOP)

Continue and expand the DUHOP by providing scholarships and stipends, training in cultural responsiveness and emerging health issues, job shadowing and mentoring, and proactive advising to undocumented undergraduate students from disadvantaged backgrounds interested in healthcare careers, to prepare them to successfully transition from classroom to workforce.

Financial Resilience and Wealth Creation for Healthcare Workers

Provide blended supports to healthcare workers�primarily employees at Federally Qualified Healthcare Clinics�so they experience increased financial resilience and build a foundation for increased wealth. WorkLife will blend and braid support from its own programming�Resource and Health Benefits Navigation and Small Dollar Loans�with the services of other nonprofits and community organizations serving LMI workers in the healthcare sector.

Community Outdoor Fitness and Gathering Area

Create an outdoor recreation and gathering area on two pieces of undeveloped land adjacent to the main campus which would include a small turfed field, a fitness course, seating areas and structures for traditional and adaptive physical activity. The new area would directly serve the needs of our special needs students, provide a high quality facility for the students of Shiloh House and meet the needs of the surrounding community.

Outdoor Play Space for Coal Creek

Assist with the community engagement and planning of a multi-generational outdoor play space to improve the health of the Coal Creek region.

La Veta Playground Initiative

Provide an appealing, accessible and safe space where children, parents and older adults will enjoy spending time encouraging physical and mental exercise. Design a playground that encourages social interaction and engagement by placing equipment for face-to-face usage and providing benches to promote conversation and interaction between age groups and generations.

GO WILD! The New Wild Bear Nature Center

Support outreach to three communities, Latinx folks, Indigenous communities and people with disabilities to conduct a comprehensive community input process to guide the design of the outdoor spaces of a new, 8,500 sq. ft. net zero nature center to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.

Playscape Planning

Help design a playscape that will be enjoyed by the students and school community. Provide a space where children can safely play and their adult caregivers can also have opportunities to enjoy the outdoor space.

Sand Creek Community Vision Plan

Support strategic planning in assessing issues facing outdoor equity and access to the Sand Creek Regional Greenway. A critical component of this project is to increase community health by engaging communities and areas near the Sand Creek Regional Greenway that lack outdoor recreation opportunities to understand their needs and the barriers to utilizing the Greenway.
