Westwood is a diverse, densely populated neighborhood in southwest Denver, with a total population of about 15,500 residents and a higher than average proportion of youth. The neighborhood has identified infrastructure improvements to improve the safety and ease of walking, biking and recreating in the community.

Healthy Places Westwood is a partnership that is led by neighborhood residents, Westwood Unidos, BuCu West, the Office of Councilman Paul Lopez, Extreme Community Makeover, Urban Land Conservancy and Revision International, all of whom are working together to increase opportunity for healthy active living in Denver’s Westwood neighborhood. Healthy Places is a three year, one million dollar initiative funded by Colorado Health Foundation to reduce obesity by fostering a built environment where it is appealing to walk, play and engage inactivities that encourage movement, connection and fun.
Westwood Lugares Sanos es una asociación que está liderada por los residentes del vecindario, Westwood Unidos, BuCu West, la oficina del concejal Paul Lopez, Extreme Community Makeover,Urban Land Conservancy y Revisión Internacional, todos los cuales están trabajando juntos para aumentar la oportunidad para la vida activa y saludable en el barrio de Westwood de Denver.
